7/9/2023 0 Comments Scientific acorn drawingI am also a member of the Ithaca Farmers’ Market, where I sell notecards, prints and calendars of my artwork and limited edition intaglio etchings. As you read this, I will be in Thailand working for the International Sustainable Development Studies Institute. Some recent clients include Audubon, the Ithaca Sciencenter, ECHO (Educational Concerns for Hunger Organization), the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies. I love working with groups such as Acorn Designs that have an environmental mission, and especially love it when my pen is my passport to travel. I now freelance with a variety of people and projects in illustration and graphic design. I have also worked at and been published by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (London), taught art classes in a small village in the Central Plateau of Haiti, painted murals and created illustrations for several fine environmentally-conscious organizations, and generally wandered around looking at things and being artistically useful wherever possible. In the traveling years between leaving and returning, I gained a degree in art and biology from Eastern College (St. I grew up in Brooktondale, a small community near Ithaca, and returned to my hometown to live and to build my freelance art and illustration business. My mom likes to tell people how I started out making detailed drawings of mushrooms and horses, foreshadowing my future as a scientific illustrator. I am an artist and scientific illustrator in my professional life.
